Tümce içerisinde isimlerin yerini alabilen sözcüklere pronoun (zamir) adı verilir. Zamirler öznenin, nesnenin, iyelik bildiren bir tamlamanın ve dönüşlü bir eylemin yerini alabilirler. İngilzice’de zamirler;

Ahmet is my best friend. He is very friendly.
She is happy in her class. It is lovely.
He buys sweets for me.
I think English is easy. It is not hard for you too.
That pencil is mine and this is yours.
